Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation at Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina, USA seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to lead maintenance of the process plant and site equipment. You will plan and execute tasks, supervise technicians and contractors, and stay on-call to support operations.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, task scoping for planners, coaching staff, and driving training improvements, while assisting Capital Projects and on-site operations as required.

Qualifications

• NFPA 70E Training.
• 5-10 years exposure to heavy industries.
• Exposure to mining or mineral processing industries.
• Experience in leading and supervising staff and contractors.

• Support liaison with the Capital Projects Team and oversee in-house projects.

Job Description

To Assist the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to lead and supervise personnel and sub-contractors in the safe and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.

Lead electrical and instrumentation maintenance as planned via the maintenance planning workflow process within allocated budget and time frames.

• Carries out routine maintenance of process plant and site equipment, as directed by the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor.

• Scope tasks in full to allow the Electrical Maintenance planner to accurately plan the work

• Assists with plant operation as required.
• Is available for standby as rostered and as required during plant breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Covers leave absences for the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor.
• Ensures that the workshops and yard and the plant site is left tidy after maintenance work is carried out.
• Coaches & Mentors the Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians and Trades Assistants.
• Carries out all other duties that may reasonably be required.
• Assists in developing continuing training for the Electrical and Instrumentation group and seeks areas for improvements for training
• Helps in training any new Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians
• Will still be required to be on the on-call rotation
• Will assist in leading and overseeing in house projects, scope and execution.
• Assist Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor in liaison with the Capital Projects Team.
• All other duties as reasonably required

Qualifications

Pre-Employment Requirements

Haile is not structured to facilitate an electrical apprenticeship program. Therefore, prior to being employed as an electrical worker at HGM, personnel shall demonstrate one of the following competencies:

• Industry Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship, or General Journeyman Electrical / Master Electrical License, or MSHA Coal Qualified Person, or 2 years’ experience working under the supervision of a Qualified Electrical Worker within a mining, industrial or commercial industry.

• All Qualified Electrical Workers are required to comply with the Electrical Safety Principal Control Plan and the referenced standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

NFPA 70 E Training

Experience:

5-10 Years exposure to heavy industries

Exposure to mining or mineral processing industries is a plus

Exposure to leading and supervision of staff and contractors

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.

• Must be Fit for Duty: Able to lift and carry 50lbs overhead, climb ladders, work at heights, etc.

• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions: wind, rain, sun.

• Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.

• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
