Your Role

Support process development and manufacturing sciences activities within our technical team in the San Francisco Bay area. Collaborate with a global team of engineers and scientists in our Process Solutions business.

Responsibilities
  • Perform process development studies for viral vectors or therapeutic proteins using MilliporeSigma reagents.
  • Design and execute experiments to optimize process reagents for cell lysis, DNA digestion, virus inactivation, and similar processes.
  • Utilize analytical techniques like qPCR, ddPCR, HPLC, and light scattering to evaluate additive performance and determine optimal conditions.
  • Support development studies for unit operations such as filtration and chromatography.
  • Assist in process optimization, technology transfer, and support for Phase I-III pharmaceutical development.
  • Provide technical consultation to customers via email, telecon, or video chat.
  • Collaborate with customer process development groups in the western US and work with local account managers.
  • Support clinical and commercial scale customers, maintaining critical quality attributes and control parameters.
  • Document activities thoroughly using electronic systems.
  • Propose innovative technical ideas for group advancement.
  • Communicate effectively within cross-functional teams and influence technical strategies.

Travel up to 30% within North America may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant sciences/engineering with 3+ years of experience, or
  • Master’s degree with 2+ years, or
  • PhD with 1+ years in pharmaceutical development or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of bioprocess operations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and laboratory skills.
  • Understanding of biomanufacturing standards and analytical techniques.
  • Ability to interpret data, recommend actions, and communicate results effectively.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and collaborative.

Pay Range: $78,000 - $123,600. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and potential incentives.
