Job Description

Responsible for research, development, and improvement of existing and newly developed devices & process technologies for the manufacture of BiCMOS wafers in a semiconductor wafer foundry. The employee exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.

This Job Is For You If
  • Have experience in process technology development and implementation in a VLSI manufacturing, foundry environment.
  • Have knowledge of CMOS and Bipolar transistor device design, characterization, and optimization.
  • Can participate in and coordinate experiments toward technology development and yield enhancement.
  • Can work with process engineering teams, test teams, and customers to define goals and manufacturing solutions.
  • Can design test structures (in CAD environment) and define tests for device characterization.
  • Can provide support to resolve customer issues, problems, and questions.
  • Can support transfer from development to production for process variants.
  • Can support process transfer to worldwide fabrication facilities if needed.

Working Environment:

Knowledge & Abilities: Candidate must have a broad knowledge of semiconductor device physics and end applications, with a special emphasis on BiCMOS processes. Experience in developing BiCMOS processes in a silicon fab is preferred. Ability to execute and understand device simulations, set up DC and RF electrical measurements, and grasp end applications and potential markets is essential.

Job Complexity & Responsibility: Responsible for a significant portion of projects, capable of leading complex technical projects influencing company performance and roadmap.

Communication & Influence: Works with all levels within the company, provides technical guidance, mentors others, and leads small teams in resolving technical problems.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions, with factory cleanroom, laboratory, and electrical test work required.

Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  • Expert-level understanding of semiconductor devices.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor process and device development or a 5-year PhD in a related field.
  • Proficiency with software such as Cadence Virtuoso, R or JMP, TCAD tools like Medici or Sentaurus, and semiconductor fab lot management software like PROMIS or Workstream.
  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Physics; PhD preferred.

Compensation: $80,000 - $170,000
