Job summary

Abbott in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Process Development Engineer II in the SH division to support manufacturing operations on the assigned line.

You will collaborate with the line supervisor, Quality Engineer and operators to improve yield, quality and throughput, drive continuous improvement, and lead CAPA investigations as needed. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and 3-D drawing with SolidWorks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, biological sciences, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of Manufacturing/Process Engineering.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in Manufacturing/Process Engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively across functions to resolve Quality/Engineering issues.
• 3-D drawing (SolidWorks required).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigned line output, safety, yield and quality; identify defects and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with QC/Manufacturing/Quality to triage issues and implement containment and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA investigations for high-complexity events.
• Support line changes and development of tools, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
