Position Summary:

Successful Manufacturing Process Design Engineers enjoy the challenges of working in a small engineering team environment to develop and implement creative new technologies for fabrication of outdoor products that enable next-generation products for the company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop new fabrication technologies that enable the next generation of products for the company
  • Identify, explore, and develop new manufacturing methods in support of market and product development activities. Processes will include a diverse array of technologies, including welding, cutting, finishing, and automated assembly
  • Design, develop, and build PLC-based systems involving robotics for manufacturing processes
  • Use CAD (AutoCAD/Inventor), tooling, and fixtures to demonstrate the new technology
  • Build prototypes of all new designs and test their efficacy
  • Effectively lead projects, ensuring the right technical resources are utilized and projects are completed within an agreed timeframe
  • Provide training on equipment/processes as needed to technicians and manufacturing personnel
  • Provide engineering support to the production team for existing processes

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate ability to creatively design equipment, fixtures, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong understanding of PLCs and robotics
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD/Inventor
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills—proficient at turning data into information and knowledge
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, to affect decision-making and keep the organization informed
  • Establish clear priorities and be enthusiastic about delivering accurate and timely results
