Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Process Design Engineer to join our client’s petrochemical engineering team. You will optimize existing processes and design new ones to improve efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance, with hands-on experience in PFDs, P&IDs, and process simulations.

The role involves collaborating with project engineers, operations and safety personnel, and supporting startup activities across multiple projects in a dynamic energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in petrochemical process design.
• Experience with process simulation software.
• Knowledge of industry codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical and mechanical processes for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Create and maintain PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Specify process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, and distillation columns.
• Conduct hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessments.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with project engineers, operations teams, and safety personnel.
• Ensure process designs adhere to all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and process documentation.
• Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and startup phases of new projects.
