Job summary

The Foth Companies are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our team in Pennsylvania. The role supports projects from the Mehoopany office with a long-established client relationship.

The successful candidate will work onsite one to two days per week, with Foth covering hotel accommodations for required onsite days to accommodate candidates living outside the area. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of engineers, designers, contractors, construction managers, vendors, and OEMs.
• PE license (preferred) or ability to obtain within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the process mechanical design effort on projects.
• Hold team members accountable to quality work product.
• Perform QAQC of engineering and design deliverables.
• Support business development and proposal activities including concepts, deliverables, effort hours, and estimated cost.
• Interface with clients and vendors regularly.
• Work in a manufacturing environment to gather field data and conduct field investigations when required.
• Generate equipment specifications and construction documents/packages.
• Collaborate with contractors and clients as a project team.
• Review vendor submittals and lead design reviews.
• Travel to client sites and vendors as needed (up to 25%).

Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Process Engineer who has a desire to contribute to our clients’ success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This role supports projects based out of Foth's Mehoopany, Pennsylvania office, working with a long-term, stable client relationship that has been in place for many years. To maintain strong collaboration and client connection, the successful candidate will be onsite one to two days per week. Foth is committed to supporting this arrangement and will cover hotel accommodations for required onsite days, allowing us to consider qualified candidates who live outside the immediate area.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and support the process mechanical design effort on projects
• Hold team members accountable to quality work product

• Work as part of a collaborative project team with contractors and client
• Review vendor submittals, lead design reviews, both internally and with vendor/client
• Travel as required to client sites and vendors for work (up to 25%)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent technical experience
• 10+ years of process engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of engineers, designers, contractors, construction managers, vendors, and OEM’s

Required Previous Experience With The Following

• P&ID's
• Preparation of installation, bid, and construction packages
• Process and utility system piping design
• Paper making technology (towel and tissue)
• Cost estimating (labor hours and capital cost estimates)
• Construction support and commissioning experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of industry-relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 24 months of your start date

Preferred Experience With The Following

• Paper making process operating knowledge (pulping through converting)
• Familiarity with 3D project execution
• Industrial HVAC - specifically room air balancing
• Pipe stress analysis
• Thru air drying (TAD) or other advanced papermaking technologies
• Familiarity with PHA's (Process Hazard Analysis)
• Yankee drying systems including steam and condensate
• Trim and broke handling
• Dust control and collection Process air
• Chemical additive and material handling system design
