Job summary

The Foth Companies in Green Bay, WI invites a Summer 2027 Process Engineering Intern to support process and utility projects for industrial clients. You will work with experienced engineers to learn engineering analysis, design, and project execution.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and interest in hands-on design and field data collection.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Interest in process and utility engineering for manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to work alongside engineers and support design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field data gathering under the direction of a process engineer.
• Create and maintain design documents (P&IDs, equipment plans, piping drawings, photo drawings).
• Assist with CADD in the preparation of drawings for process and utility system related projects.
• Understand, interpret, and develop design and construction specifications.
• Perform standard process system calculations (pump sizing, material and energy balance, fluid flow analysis, valve and instrument sizing).
• Develop equipment lists.

As a Process Engineering Intern in our Green Bay, WI office, you'll support process and utility engineering projects for a variety of industrial clients, working alongside experienced engineers. During this Summer 2027 internship, you'll build your understanding of engineering analysis, design, and project execution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with field data gathering under the direction of a process engineer
• Create and maintain clear and accurate design documents (P&IDs, equipment plans, piping drawings, photo drawings)
• Assist with CADD in the preparation of drawings for process and utility system related projects
• Understand, interpret, and develop design and construction specifications
• Perform standard process system calculations (pump sizing, material and energy balance, fluid flow analysis, valve and instrument sizing)
• Develop equipment lists

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• GPA of 3.0 or greater

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with and/or coursework involving P&IDs
• Previous experience with and/or coursework involving standard process calculations (pump sizing, valve and instrument sizing, fluid flow analysis)
• Previous experience with equipment specification and procurement support (obtaining quotes, vendor contact/follow-up)
