Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking a Process Design Engineer to support operations at the Savannah River Site, located in Aiken, SC. The role focuses on designing processes, preparing P&IDs, and evaluating how design changes affect flow, pressure, temperature, chemistry, and throughput.

You will work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure compliant, safe solutions. Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience in process design for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in process engineering or process design in industrial or chemical facilities.
• Knowledge of process calculations and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop process calculations, design inputs, technical evaluations, and system modifications.
• Prepare and revise process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process descriptions, and equipment/process datasheets.
• Evaluate impacts of design changes on flow, pressure, temperature, chemistry, batch timing, and throughput.
• Support design changes affecting tanks, transfer systems, filtration, solvent extraction, chemical addition, and waste routing.
• Define process requirements for other engineering disciplines.
• Support hazards reviews, design reviews, test planning, and implementation activities.

Process Design Engineer

Duties

• Develop process calculations, design inputs, technical evaluations, and system modifications.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in radioactive waste processing, chemical separations, or hazardous process systems.
• Familiarity with batch processing and waste transfer systems.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
