Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to join the Engineering team in support of controls, automation and project implementation from prototype to production at our Hammond facility in Indiana.

As a member of the Engineering team, you will design, develop and troubleshoot electrical controls systems, integrate PLCs, HMIs and electrical schematics, and work closely with cross-functional teams to keep projects on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in Electrical Controls/System Engineering
• Experience with CNC/FANUC machines and PLC programming
• Strong ladder logic and HMI design skills
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP and basic networking
• Knowledge of plant power distribution and safety standards
• Automotive manufacturing/JIT experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and support controls and automation projects from prototype to production
• Design and streamline electrical controls, circuitry, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Program and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic implementations
• Provide controls engineering support for spare parts and repair during production
• Collaborate with Plant Engineers and Maintenance Supervisors to meet schedules
• Read schematics, BOMs, and component drawings for electrical control systems
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (NFPA-70E, LOTO)
