Summary:
We are seeking a Process Controls Engineer with a strong focus on Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) integration to support, maintain, and enhance industrial automation systems across a chemical manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of control systems, SCADA platforms, industrial networks, and cybersecurity initiatives while partnering with operations, maintenance, engineering, and corporate IT teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting process control systems in a continuous manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of OT infrastructure, industrial networking, cybersecurity, and SCADA platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain plant control systems, SCADA applications, HMIs, PLCs, and associated OT infrastructure.
- Administer and troubleshoot Wonderware (AVEVA) SCADA systems and related applications.
- Design, implement, and support OT network architectures, including switches, firewalls, industrial wireless systems, and remote access solutions.
- Collaborate with corporate IT teams to ensure alignment between IT and OT environments while maintaining production reliability and security.
- Develop and execute OT cybersecurity initiatives, including patch management, network segmentation, user access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
- Provide technical support for process control, instrumentation, and automation-related issues.
- Lead and support capital projects involving automation, controls modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, network diagrams, standards, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, system reliability enhancements, and production optimization.
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and technology deployments while minimizing operational disruptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline).
- Hands-on experience with Wonderware (AVEVA) SCADA platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) systems, industrial networking, and control system architecture.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience within the chemical manufacturing industry or other highly regulated process industries- highly preferred
