Keystone Distinction Group in Birmingham, Alabama, is looking for a Process Control Engineer to focus on programming control systems in their chemical manufacturing plant. This role will require working with Rockwell PLCs and PlantPAx, along with other automation technologies.
The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering, with 3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or similar roles. The position offers a mix of office work and occasional on-site tasks.
This is a well-established, family‑owned specialty chemical manufacturer located in the Greater Birmingham area; they've been around for 60+ years and have been steadily growing over the past several years.
This is a new role that will be joining a team of people in place and the overall focus of this group is automation of the chemical manufacturing plant. They use Rockwell PLCs and PlantPAx (Rockwell's DCS platform), as well as HMI and SCADA. This role will primarily focus on programming of control systems and instrumentation. There are two other process control engineers in the group and one of them is the group leader. So, mostly office work with occasional work in the manufacturing plant. This role will occasionally get involved with troubleshooting communication networks. Minimal travel associated with this role.
