Job summary

MP Materials is seeking an experienced Process Control Technician to support and maintain plant process control systems in a high‑tech manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and safety systems, participate in CI initiatives, and collaborate with engineers to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires an Associates degree or equivalent and 3+ years of hands‑on PLC/HMI experience in industry, with strong schematic reading and familiarity with Rockwell

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with PLC/HMI in industrial settings.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and modify documentation.
• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for plant process control systems and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and safety systems.
• Respond to on-call issues and after-hours support as needed.
• Document actions, maintenance, and resolutions for leadership.
• Participate in CI projects to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Install, test, and calibrate process control components.
• Read and redline electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Support programming and configuration of Rockwell, Siemens platforms.
• Collaborate with operators, maintenance and engineering teams.
