Job summary

Das Gemacht Inc. is seeking a Process Control Engineer for our Pennsylvania operation. This role involves supporting existing applications and developing new programs for the ColdMill. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, solid knowledge of control theory, and the aptitude to thrive in a complex environment.

The engineer will utilize PLC programming and computer skills to control process equipment, analyze issues, and respond to troubleshooting needs around the clock. Familiarity with DC drives and the steel industry is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of control theory and PLC programming essential.
• Experience with DC drives and system administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support existing applications and develop new software.
• Control process equipment using computers and PLCs.
• Analyze user-reported problems to identify root causes.
• Respond to troubleshooting calls on a 24/7 basis.

Job Description

We are looking for a Process Control Engineer at our PA operation. The Process Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting and developing new applications and programs in the ColdMill. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and thrive in a fast paced work environment with complex operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support existing custom applications and development of new applications. This will include computer programming and some system administration skills.
• Use computers and PLC’s to control process equipment used in the production and processing of steel.
• Analyze problems to find root cause involving user contact occasionally to diagnose the problem.
• Be willing to respond to troubleshoot calls on a 24/7 basis.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of control theory (PID and PI control)
• Knowledge of DC drives (SIMATIC Drives and Allen-Bradley Drives a plus) and DC motors
• Knowledge of PLC programming, Control Logix, Siemens S7, Siemens TDC
• Knowledge of WinCC HMI and IBA Server
• System administration experience with WindowsUnderstanding of multiple network protocols and topologies
• Steel industry/Cold Mill experience a plus
