Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking an RD&I Scientist to provide process chemistry expertise for GMP production and scale-up, shaping new processes from customer data.

You will coordinate with project managers, document changes, support IP development, and communicate results clearly to internal teams and external clients, ensuring compliance and readiness for manufacturing transfers.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Organic Chemistry.
• Fundamental understanding of organic chemistry and lab skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and document management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers to develop and track schedules.
• Contribute as chemistry expert to final process design meeting customer data package needs.
• Prepare documents (change control, process transfer reports) by deadlines.
• Identify process improvements to generate Evonik IP.
• Design and perform experiments to support process improvement and IP claims.
• Document laboratory activities and provide precise reports.
• Provide detailed process descriptions to support manufacturing instructions.
• Maintain lab notebooks to support IP claims and participate in process hazard assessments.
