Job summary

Synthio Chemicals Inc. is seeking a Process Chemist to lead hands-on synthesis, data analysis, and procedure development. Work with a small team of chemists, engineers, and technicians to move ideas toward production hardware in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform bench-to-pilot scale processes, analyze data, and document results, while maintaining safety and lab organization. This role requires hands-on lab experience and strong communication skills in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• BS degree in chemistry with 3-5 years relevant work experience, or MS in chemistry with 2-4 years experience.
• Hands-on experience in a research lab or chemical production facility.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support processes from bench to pilot scale.
• Follow SOPs for chemical syntheses and manipulations.
• Assemble, clean and maintain glassware for bench-scale experiments.
• Experience conducting chemical reactions at 1 g to 10 kg scales.
• Maintain laboratory and production area cleanliness and organization.
• Follow safety programs for highly hazardous chemicals and document work.

Job description

The Process Chemist will work independently and with a small team of talented chemists, chemical and mechanical engineers and technicians under the direction of highly experienced. scientists and engineers to shepherd breakthrough designs from ideas to production hardware. This is a hands-on position, where you will be performing chemical synthesis, analyzing data, and developing new procedures. Responsibilities

Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to develop and support processes from bench to pilot scale

• Ability to manage and analyze data sets
• Follow standard operating procedures for chemical syntheses and manipulations
• Help develop SOP for new processes
• Assemble, clean and maintain glassware for bench scale experiments
• Experience conducting chemical reactions at a variety of scales (1 g to 10 kg)
• Diligently maintain laboratory and production area cleanliness and organization
• Understand and strictly follow safety programs related to highly hazardous chemicals
• Clearly document work, report on task progress and communicate results
• Manage time and organization efficiently

Requirements

• BS degree in chemistry + 3-5 years relevant work experience, M.S. chemistry or similar experience + 2-4 years relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience in a research laboratory or chemical production facility required
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and must be able to pass a background check
