Job summary

OxyChem is offering a Summer Process Engineer Intern program across multiple U.S. sites, including LaPorte TX and Geismar LA.

This entry-level opportunity seeks chemical engineering students eager to gain hands-on experience in process improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship. Interns will work on real projects, collaborate with site leaders, and develop practical skills while learning from industry experts in a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Graduation date: December 2027 – May 2029.
• Must maintain minimum cumulative GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, develop, specify, justify, install, and start-up process improvements to increase production capacity and yields.
• Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations, including troubleshooting and reporting production status.
• Prepare AFE’s for plant-scale capital projects and follow through to completion.
• Represent and assist production/engineering in evaluating vendors and coordinating services/equipment.
