Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in Yankton, SD, is seeking a full-time Process Automation Engineer to drive process improvement from design through production.

You will work on automated manufacturing systems, PLC controls, and SCADA tooling to boost quality, capability, and efficiency on-site. The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 3–5 years in industrial automation, with strong AB PLC programming, VB.NET/VB6, and knowledge of EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and Modbus.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Three to five years of industrial process/automation experience.
• Strong programming skills in Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Experience in VB.NET and VB6 development.
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Drive process improvement from initial machine design through full-scale production.
• Support installation, commissioning, startup and maintenance of automated equipment.
• Define and maintain automated manufacturing systems and software controls.
• Maintain documentation including work instructions and schematics.
• Collaborate between process engineering and automation teams.
