Job Description

The Process Assurance Engineer is responsible for defining the product development processes for System, HW, and FW in accordance with applicable aeronautical regulations: ARP‑4754A, DO‑254, and DO‑178C. The engineer must provide training for the product engineers about the defined development processes, conduct internal audits, and support audits from customers and authorities. The role works in a collaborative cross‑functional environment for the development of an electric propulsion unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the system development process and related documentation in accordance with ARP‑4754A.
  • Define the electronic hardware development process and related documentation in accordance with DO‑254.
  • Define the software development process and related documentation in accordance with DO‑178 and DO‑331.
  • Define cyber‑security related processes.
  • Analyze and approve development process documents provided by hardware, firmware, and software suppliers.
  • Provide training to the team about process assurance standards and defined development processes.
  • Select, set up, and conduct administrative activities related to requirements management tools.
  • Provide training and support engineering teams on the requirements management tool.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with defined processes.
  • Support external audits from customers and authorities concerning development processes.
Technical Attributes and Experience
  • Experience in new product development and phase‑gate processes.
  • Experience in development of electromechanical propulsion systems or electromechanical actuation systems.
  • Experience with development of electronic controllers for safety critical applications.
  • Experience in requirements‑based development.
  • Experience with ARP‑4754A, DO‑254, DO‑178C, and DO‑331.
  • Experience with cyber‑security methods applicable to commercial aviation.
  • Experience with airworthiness certification requirements.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS or JAMA.
  • Willingness to work with, and travel to, domestic and international design and manufacturing locations when necessary.
Preferred
  • Experience with power electronics and motor control.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in motor control or modelling.
