Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Systems Analyst to optimize merchandising and operational efficiency through robust business systems. You will analyze processes, partner with IT and vendors, and ensure data accuracy, security roles, and documented configurations.

Daily work includes testing, training, and supporting enhancements from concept through implementation to keep pace with evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of systems, process analyst, or related analytical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional system requirements.
• Knowledge of merchandising processes, retail math, KPIs, and system integrations.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• A team‑first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you’re happy to step in wherever you’re needed.

What You Will Work On

This role centers on supporting and improving the systems and processes that drive merchandising and operational efficiency. Daily work includes managing functional aspects of business systems, optimizing workflows, and ensuring data, configurations, and requirements stay aligned with business needs. Every solution you deliver helps teams move faster, make clearer decisions, and reduce complexity across tools and processes.

You’ll partner closely with IT, business teams, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, define requirements, and support enhancements from concept through testing. Responsibilities include leading UAT efforts, supporting end‑user training, and maintaining foundational data, security roles, and system documentation. Your work ensures systems run smoothly and evolve to meet changing business priorities.
