Mauricio C. Ducassi is looking for a Process and Packaging Engineer for a Consumer Goods based CDMO client who will be responsible for seamless and efficient bulk pilot and fill line trials. Function as liaison between R&D/Operations/Production to support formula development, packaging, bulk, and finished goods. This role is instrumental in transferring lab formulas from lab to production, developing, and optimizing production processes to enable successful production runs.

  • Support line trials by leading and tracking execution, identifying potential issues, adjusting as needed, and sharing findings with stakeholders.
  • Support Quality and Operations in developing equipment specifications (e.g., fill weight, torque, seal test, crimping) and setting targets for commercial production.
  • Evaluate and select suitable packaging for products, review packaging component compatibility, and ensure equipment and resources support successful production.
  • Assess and evaluate packaging for new projects (NPD), changes in current packaging, and determine appropriate packaging components.
  • Coordinate packaging components and materials with Operations, R&D, and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Support bulk pilot and first production runs, including coordination with operations for batching and filling. Serve as technical liaison with validation specialists for OTC documentation.
  • Create manufacturing instructions and line trial protocols to identify process control parameters, minimize variation, and ensure product-specific processes.
  • Develop equipment, process, and packaging line workflows throughout product lifecycle stages.
  • Train Compounders and Supervisors on new processes and packaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists on formulation requirements to ensure lab verification batches meet release specifications and can be successfully manufactured and filled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering or R&D role, ideally within FMCG or related sectors.
  • A Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with CPGs, especially in skin care, beauty, and personal care products, including scale-up and aerosol products.
  • Proven process or packaging engineering experience in a GMP environment with OTC products.
  • Knowledge of bulk processes, packing equipment principles, hygienic and sustainable design.
  • Experience designing solutions that protect products, consider sustainability, and enhance customer experience.
  • Familiarity with innovation workflows in personal care.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in identifying cost-effective packaging solutions that meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong project and time management skills to handle multiple projects and timelines.

Physical Demands
