What we’re looking for:
Indorama Ventures is seeking a skilled Process Analyzer Technician to apply technical expertise in the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Process Analyzers, and Delphian gas detection systems. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining various analytical instruments within our chemical process environment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning:
- Install and commission Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Process Analyzers, and Delphian gas detection systems.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on process analyzers, sample systems, and gas chromatographs (e.g., Siemens Maxum II, Applied Automation Advanced Opti-Chrom, Yokogawa GC1000 Mark II).
- Maintain preventive maintenance records in both electronic and paper formats.
- Troubleshooting & Repair:
- Diagnose and repair instrumentation issues, including calibration, repair, and maintenance of analytical instruments (e.g., O₂, CO, and moisture analyzers from ABB or Servomex).
- Troubleshoot hardware, control circuits, and perform diagnostics on instrumentation failures.
- Emergency Response & On-Call Duty:
- Respond to emergency call-outs and participate in a rotating weekly on-call schedule.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work with Process, Project, and Control Reliability Engineers to support production during startup and shutdown operations.
- Communicate instrumentation needs across all levels of the organization.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment by adhering to company Safe Work Practices.
- Follow site protocols for documenting work and equipment repair histories.
- Training & Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in company-required training programs and maintain the necessary electrical credentials.
- Complete required computer-based training within specified timeframes and stay current in the analyzer functional area.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in Instrumentation/Electronics or completion of a 4- to 5-year apprenticeship program with at least 2 years’ relevant experience, OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of petrochemical analytical equipment (with high school diploma or equivalent).
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation work within a chemical plant or refinery is required.
- Certifications:
- Must have or be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).TWIC requirements
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing analytical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
- Competency using instrument loop sheets and various testing equipment.
- Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and Delta V systems.
- Basic coding skills are an advantage.
- Problem-Solving:
- Strong inductive/deductive reasoning and sequential thinking skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- Work Flexibility:
- Ability to be present in the workplace regularly and work extra hours, including overtime, to meet production objectives.
