Job summary

Jax Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a skilled Procedure Technician to support physicians during interventional pain management procedures. You will prepare rooms, assist providers before, during, and after procedures, and maintain sterile technique to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Surgical Technology, or equivalent program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a physician practice, ambulatory surgery center, or outpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure rooms with equipment, medications, and supplies for procedures.
  • Assist physicians during interventional pain management procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Position and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Document patient vitals and assist with assessments as directed.
  • Sterilize and maintain procedure equipment and instruments per protocols.
  • Support room turnover for efficient patient flow and timely scheduling.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and report needs.
  • Document information in the EMR accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, assistants, and front office staff to provide quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
  • Perform other assigned clinical duties.

Jax Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Procedure Technician to support physicians during interventional pain management procedures. The Procedure Technician plays a critical role in preparing procedure rooms, assisting providers before, during, and after procedures, maintaining sterile technique, preparing equipment and supplies, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment while demonstrating a commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare procedure rooms with the necessary equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
  • Assist physicians during interventional pain management procedures while maintaining sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
  • Position and prepare patients for procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs and assist with patient assessments as directed.
  • Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain procedure equipment and instruments according to established protocols.
  • Assist with room turnover to ensure efficient patient flow and timely procedure scheduling.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify leadership of supply needs.
  • Accurately document clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention standards, and Company policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and front office staff to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, Surgical Technology program, or equivalent clinical training.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a physician practice, ambulatory surgery center, or outpatient procedural setting.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, sports medicine, or ambulatory surgery.
  • Experience assisting with fluoroscopic or image-guided procedures.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • Experience with inventory management and procedure room setup.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
