Job summary

Jax Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Procedure Technician to support physicians during interventional pain management procedures. The role involves preparing procedure rooms, assisting before, during, and after procedures, maintaining sterile technique, preparing equipment and supplies, and delivering a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Surgical Technology program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a physician practice, ambulatory surgery center, or outpatient procedural setting.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, medications and supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Assist physicians during interventional pain management procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Position and prepare patients for procedures ensuring comfort and safety.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and assist with patient assessments as directed.
• Prepare, clean, sterilize and maintain procedure equipment and instruments per protocols.
• Assist with room turnover to ensure efficient patient flow and timely scheduling.
• Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify leadership of needs.
• Document clinical information within the EMR.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants and front office staff to provide high-quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
• Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
