Job summary

The Center for Pain seeks a Procedure Room Technician to join our team, assisting with pain management procedures, preparing patients, and ensuring proper equipment and documentation.

You will work with physicians and nurses to maintain patient comfort, safety, and compliance with HIPAA while supporting ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, electronic health records, etc).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move equipment as needed.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for pain management procedures by explaining the process, answering questions and ensuring their comfort.
  • Assist healthcare providers during pain management procedures including but not limited to epidural injections, nerve blocks, and spinal cord stimulator trials.
  • Set up and maintain equipment necessary for pain management procedures ensuring everything is in proper working order.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures observing vital signs and responding promptly to any signs of distress or complications.
  • Accurately document patient information, procedure details and observations during and after procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the procedure room following established protocols for infection control and sterilization.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions to patients including information on home care, potential side effects and follow up appointments.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members including physicians, nurses and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements including HIPAA regulations and safety standards to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pain management procedures and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities
