Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join its Interventional Pain Management team. You will prepare patients, assist with spinal injections and other procedures, and monitor sedation to ensure safety and comfort throughout the peri-procedural period.

Minimum 20 hours per month with 10-hour shifts within a dynamic, collaborative clinical setting. The role emphasizes close physician collaboration, patient education, and high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Previous experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for procedures: Review medical records, obtain vital signs, start IVs, and administer fluids or medications as appropriate.
  • Support interventional procedures: Assist with spinal injections and other minimally invasive pain management procedures.
  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation: Closely monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
  • Provide post-procedure care: Monitor patients during recovery from sedation, assess patient status, and provide appropriate nursing care through discharge.
  • Use strong clinical judgment: Quickly recognize changes in patient condition, respond appropriately, and communicate effectively with physicians and the clinical team.
