Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia invites applications for an Advanced Practice Provider in Dermatology at UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA. This highly procedural opportunity offers a structured ramp-up, mentorship, and pathways to greater independence within a collaborative, academic medicine environment.

Ideal candidates are NPs or PAs who enjoy hands-on procedures and longitudinal patient care, with a commitment to patient access and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) in Virginia.
• Maintain required licensure, certifications and competencies.
• BLS required; ACLS as position requires.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat dermatology patients across the lifespan, from routine to complex conditions.
• Perform dermatologic procedures as training and competency develop.
• Collaborate with dermatologists and APP colleagues to ensure high-quality care.
• Review pathology and clinical results, then communicate next steps to patients.
• Guide daily clinic flow with medical assistants and dermatology staff.
• Identify when physician consultation is needed and coordinate timely input.
