Veronica E. Connor Middle School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities in 7th grade inclusive classrooms. The successful candidate will work with special education and general education teachers to help students access the curriculum and build academic skills.

Minimum qualifications include NYS Certification in Teaching Assistant; Special Education or Students with Disabilities preferred. Internal candidates may submit a letter of interest to Personnel.

Duties:

Veronica E. Connor Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities in 7th grade inclusive classrooms. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to help students access grade-level curriculum, build academic skills, and achieve success in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Certification in Teaching Assistant required; Special Education or Students with Disabilities preferred.

Qualifications Desired:

• Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Plans and classroom accommodations.
• Support students in understanding content, completing assignments, and developing organizational skills.
• Facilitate small-group and individual instruction.
