Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks a CORRECTIONAL PROBATION SUPERVISOR for Melbourne area. The role directs probation officers, ensures investigations and supervision stay within Florida statutes and department rules, and may oversee small office operations.

The incumbent supervises field activities, reviews casework, and mentors staff. Candidates require a bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license, with internal promotion eligibility noted.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise correctional probation officers and senior officers.
• Monitor daily activities to ensure investigative and supervision services are provided per statutes and rules.
• Review and approve investigations, warrants, and court-related documents for quality and content.
• Assign new and transfer cases and monitor workload distribution.
• Ensure compliance with field supervision standards and protocol.
• Conduct case reviews and follow up on recommendations for termination of supervision.
• Supervise policy implementation and staff training.
• Maintain liaison with judiciary, prosecutors, law enforcement, and other agencies.
• Manage day-to-day office operations and participate in teams on policy development.
