Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring for a Probation & Parole Assistant to support offender management and public safety. You will investigate home/work environments, gather data, and prepare reports for courts and the Parole Board.

You will counsel offenders, participate in court proceedings, and assist in planning rehabilitation efforts with public and private agencies. A valid driver’s license and willingness to complete safety training are required.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in probation, parole, corrections, or related social services.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offender's home, work, and social environments for courts and boards; compiles and evaluates data for reports.
• Counsels offenders in personal and adjustment issues; attends court to present information.
• Assists in vocational, educational, and social adjustment planning; coordinates with agencies and law enforcement.
• Prepares statistical reports; conducts tests as needed; participates in committees and special projects.
