Job summary

The 13th Judicial District in Butler County, KS is hiring a Court Service Officer I. The role supports probation and bond supervision, conducts risk/needs assessments, and prepares presentence investigations. You’ll interact with clients, document case activity, and coordinate with law enforcement and court staff.

A bachelor’s degree is required; Spanish is a plus. Compensation starts at $29.07/hour with increases after six months and after one year of successful performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
• Spanish language ability is a plus; strong written communication.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients on probation or bond supervision.
• Explain probation conditions and assist with compliance.
• Refer clients to community resources as needed.
• Prepare presentence investigations and risk/needs assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of contacts and case information.
• Monitor dockets, enforce orders, and provide testimony.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and court staff.
