Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
• Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work orders requirements.
• Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
• Operate weld fixtures and a weld positioner (turntable).
• Dimensional inspection of welds and parts using calipers, protractors, and gauges.
• Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects; tag non-conforming parts for rework.
• Work outside department as required, mainly belt and hand grinding.
• Complete logs and job orders; follow manufacturing schedules.
