The Department of Romance Languages, located in the School ofGlobal Studies and Languages, is a diverse, multicultural, andplurilingual academic unit that researches and instructs in French,Italian, and Spanish languages and literatures. It is the largestlanguage department at the University of Oregon and frequentlyintersects with other departments and programs on campus. Thedepartment sponsors and supports numerous activities such aslectures, film festivals, study abroad programs, internationalconferences, and community events.
The Department of Romance Languages at the University of Oregonseeks to build a pool of qualified applicants for instructionalpositions in French, Italian, and Spanish (lower and upper-divisionlanguage and culture classes, and upper-division literature,culture, and linguistics classes). Potential courses may includefirst- and second-year language courses, third-year language andculture courses, and, with appropriate credentials, introductoryliterature, culture, or linguistics courses or advancedundergraduate seminars. Positions may also include supervision ofmulti-section language courses.
Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewablefor up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need,funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take placeas positions become available and continue until positions arefilled.
