The Chautauqua Golf Club includes two 18-hole golf courses, pro shop , teaching and practice facility, clinics, and events. The full golf season runs mid-April to November 1. The Chautauqua Golf Club hours are 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekends. The Pro Shop is open 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

About Your Compensation

Compensation for this position starts at $15.50/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $17.50/Hour.

About Your Work Day

  • Customer focused when greeting patrons and answering the phone.
  • Able to respond to patron's questions about the golf services offered, pro-shop merchandise., the condition of the greens, and golf-related events.
  • Use a computer to take tee-time reservations and check in players.
  • Process purchases using a computerized cash register. Includes computing prices, processing cash or credit payment and providing customer with proper sales receipt and change.
  • Ensure accurate records of sales transactions and /or refunds in accordance with department procedures.
  • Monitor golf course for the pace of play and activities that could impact the pace of play.
  • Informs supervisor of maintenance and inventory needs.
  • Reports safety incidents and equipment repair needs in a timely manner to the supervisor.
  • Assists in creating a safe, neat, and clean environment.

About the Referral Program

Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.

About Your Schedule

Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations starting annually each June and concluding in August. Seasonal employment may be available earlier (pre-season) and beyond season (post-season) based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as a requirement. While you will confirm your final schedule with management at the time of an interview and offer of employment, you should generally anticipate the following schedule options for this position:

Typically, will work an eight-hour shift with a start time that varies between 5:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., for a total of 24 hours per week. Must be able to work one weekend shift each week.
