Job summary

Indiana Legal Services, Inc. seeks a Project Attorney to recruit pro bono attorneys and match them with appropriate cases, clinics, or other legal work for eligible ILS clients, while monitoring and supporting the volunteers’ work.

You will collaborate with Pro Bono Indiana, law firms, schools, and community partners, maintaining records and developing quality control systems to ensure high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Bar admission with at least 5 years of legal experience, preferably serving low-income clients.
• Live in Central Indiana or be willing to move there.
• Some private practice or in-house practice experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit pro bono attorneys and match them with appropriate cases, clinics, or other legal work for ILS clients.
• Assign, track, and close cases and coordinate support for pro bono attorneys.
• Develop quality control systems and coordinate between ILS staff and pro bono attorneys.
• Collaborate with Pro Bono Indiana, law firms, law schools, and community partners.
• Expand and sustain volunteer recruitment strategies and events.
• Match volunteers to clients and coordinate support on specific cases.
• Develop and run legal clinics for targeted issues.
