Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Stony Brook, NY, seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused care team. Saturday and Sunday coverage is required; the role involves assessments, initiating therapies, and documenting patient progress in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include bedside treatments, equipment management, and coordination with the care team. NY licensure and BLS are required; tracheostomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments and documentation daily.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and participate in in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings preferred.
• Follow facility procedures and track caseloads.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
