Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Sayville, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will perform patient assessments, initiate therapies, and document care, while working with an interdisciplinary team to support geriatric residents.

Candidates must hold an AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy and be licensed as RRT or CRT in New York; BLS required. Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and complete in-services for nursing staff.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation; attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings; follow facility procedures.
• Manage caseload, tracking and auditing; perform related duties.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
