Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The position requires licensure in the state, the ability to evaluate and treat independently, and a passion for geriatric care.

The RT will perform respiratory assessments, initiate therapies, and support residents’ functional improvements. Responsibilities include bedside treatments, equipment management, and documentation; attendance at IDT meetings;

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice and BLS certified.
• Experience in long-term care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques for rehab.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Perform tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
