Mercy Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join their team in Lima, Ohio. The role involves performing ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. The ultrasound technologist performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. May be required to learn to scan vascular exams i.e., venous duplex scans. Will perform direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. Under the direction of Radiology leadership, the Ultrasound tech performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis of disease or pathology.
Essential Job Functions:
Licensing/Certification
Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
Education
Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (preferred)
Work Experience
1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
Training
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
