Job summary

Advocate Health's Ultrasound Department seeks a part-time ultrasound technologist to coordinate and perform ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.

You will conduct exams per departmental protocols, deliver patient-centered care, and operate ultrasound equipment with proficiency. ARDMS/ARRT certification and BLS are required; schedule is PRN and variable.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification is required.
• Graduate of a comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound program preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders for each patient.
• Assists Radiologist in invasive procedures.
• Evaluates exam quality and adapts technique for efficiency.
• Supports patient-centered care and caregiver role.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor/engineer.
• Operates the Radiology computer system and charges exams.
• Maintains neat, stocked work area and supplies.
• Adheres to departmental rules and remains professional.
