MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist I at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. Under general supervision, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across age groups, ensure image quality, and select appropriate equipment.

You will educate patients, document exams, coordinate with providers, maintain a safe and compliant environment, and transfer images to PACS for interpretation. ARDMS eligibility and BLS are required; prior experience not required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program registry eligible (Required)
• Associate’s degree in health sciences or related field (Preferred)
• Prior Work Experience not required

Responsabilités

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate imaging, proper equipment selection, patient identification, and adherence to scanning protocols.
• Provide exceptional patient care by educating and preparing patients for procedures, obtaining medical histories, documenting exams, and coordinating care with providers, patients, and families.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment by following infection prevention standards, performing probe disinfection, assisting with sterile procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment and exam room supplies, perform quality control, report equipment issues, and support efficient departmental operations.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support staff and student education, uphold professional and ethical standards, and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS for interpretation.
