Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist at Great Bend Hospital. The role performs diagnostic ultrasound exams, communicates findings to radiologists, and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

You will operate high-frequency imaging equipment, adhere to QC procedures, and assist in teaching sonography students and residents as needed. ARDMS certification is preferred, and BLS is required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology.
• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program meeting ARDMS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic sonography examinations and documents findings for radiologist review.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort, explains exams, and answers questions.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and coordinates exams to minimize patient stay.
• Performs QC and reports equipment issues to supervisor.
• Provides instruction to students and coordinates with staff as needed.
