Qualifications

  • Required certifications include Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographer and ARDMS Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular (RVT) within 1 year of hire is necessary.
  • Preferred: 1+ years' experience in Ultrasonography.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Ultrasound examinations and operate ultrasound units.
  • Prepare rooms and maintain cleanliness; interview and support patients.
  • Educate patients and healthcare providers on procedures and equipment usage.

Penn Medicine Valley Forge is looking for a per-diem Ultrasound Radiographer!

Summary:

The Ultrasound Radiographer is responsible for performing all Ultrasound examinations. The primary purpose of this position is to perform, coordinate, and supervise patient testing services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Operate Ultrasound units
  2. Prepare ultrasound rooms and maintain cleanliness of area
  3. Interview and screen patients prior to the examination and explain procedures to the patient
  4. Perform, coordinate, and supervise selected patient testing services
  5. Ensure all equipment, supplies, and records are available for patient care at the satellites
  6. Educate and support patients and their families through telephone consultation, office visits, and hospital visits
  7. Educate and instruct other healthcare providers and patients (and their families) in the use of specialized equipment, new procedures, and new concepts
  8. Assure maximum quality of care, design, and implement effective antenatal testing systems
  9. Maintain patient testing records and unit equipment
  10. Assist in research projects as requested by the Division
  11. Communicate equipment problems and image quality issues
  12. Package and send genetic specimens
  13. Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  14. Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
  • Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographer (Required)
  • ARDMS Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular (RVT) within 1 year of hire (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography School (required)
  • 1+ years’ experience in Ultrasonography (Preferred)
