Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Brighton, CO seeks a Telemetry Technician to support a busy Medical-Surgical unit. The role works PRN with weekend coverage, monitoring patient ECGs, interpreting rhythm changes, and communicating with RNs to ensure safety and continuity of care.

You will manage telemetry equipment, document findings, assist with patient tracking and transport, and participate in training new associates to uphold high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Basic rhythm certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication with care team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and ensure accurate ECG readings.
• Interpret ECG data and promptly report changes to RN.
• Prepare, maintain and clean telemetry equipment and replace batteries/leads as needed.
• Document ECG data and interval measurements in patient records for multidisciplinary review.
• Track patient locations and assist with transport while visualizing ECG on return.
• Perform crash cart checks at start of shift for readiness.
• Provide ECG history for seamless care transitions between monitors.
• Assist in training new associates on telemetry monitoring and procedures.
• Maintain admission and discharge logs for continuity of care and backup.
