Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred.
• Current BLS required.
• 2+ years in an acute care OR setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery and ensure sterility of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants during operations.
• Maintain sterile environment and enforce infection control protocols.
• Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as directed.
• Monitor and manage surgical supplies and inventory.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping as required.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
• Perform post-operative cleanup and prepare room for the next procedure.
