Job summary

Advanced Gynecology, a partner of Together Women’s Health, is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will prepare the surgical environment, ensure sterility, and assist surgeons during procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a completed Surgical Technology program, active BLS, and prefer CST certification. Prior acute care OR experience and strong teamwork skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• CST certification is highly preferred.
• 2+ years in an acute care OR setting is preferred.
• Proficient in sterile processing and OR procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
• Physical stamina for standing long periods and lifting surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery by ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during operations.
• Maintain a sterile environment and enforce infection control protocols.
• Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as directed.
• Monitor and manage surgical supplies and inventory.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping as required.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform post-operative cleanup and help prepare the room for the next procedure.
