Job description

Piney Point Surgery Center is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center and fertility lab serving Houston and the surrounding communities. We offer a full range of services for reproductive health, including male and female infertility evaluations, advanced reproductive surgery, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Our physicians are experts in reproductive endocrinology, and along with a dedicated team of nurses and lab professionals, they provide compassionate, personalized care for every patient.

We are currently seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

This is a PRN position, with work hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

1. Provide age-appropriate care to patients, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
2. Understand and apply principles of surgical instrument handling, including counts, isolation protocols, and proper terminal cleaning procedures.
3. Perform technical surgical skills relevant to the role.
4. Maintain professional boundaries and function within the scope of the position.
5. Participate in continuing education to enhance clinical competencies.
6. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
7. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with patients and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Two (2) years of operating room experience required.
• Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technical School preferred.

Skills and Behaviors

• Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
• Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
