We are seeking a qualified PRN Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Good Samaritan. The role involves interpreting and entering medication orders, supervising pharmacy staff, providing drug information, and ensuring medication safety.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Interpret and enter medication orders and prescriptions, assessing for indications, allergies, duplications, dosages, and interactions. Contact prescribers on any problems and complete required clinical documentation.
  • Supervise and serve as a resource for pharmacy staff, managing the pharmacy in the absence of the Director, Pharmacy Staff Development Supervisor, and Clinical Coordinator.
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
  • Maintain professional competency and clinical knowledge.
  • Work efficiently, utilizing downtime productively.
  • Promote cost-effective medication use.
  • Ensure the safe use of medications.
  • Document interventions accurately and follow up on unresolved issues.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient counseling when needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient's age.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. or Pharm.D. degree.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana.
  • Hospital experience preferred but not required.
