Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Sr Pharmacy Technician to support preparation and distribution of medications under a pharmacist supervision. You will help maintain hospital inventory, use pharmacy systems, and review regulatory paperwork while updating patient billing records.

Preferred candidates have 2–4 years of pharmacy tech experience, with EMR training and valid licensure. This on-site role emphasizes oncology prep experience and hospital background.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School or equivalent (e.g., GED certification)
• Minimum Experience: 2–4 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Required Courses/Training : EMR
• Required Certification/Licensure: State or National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CphT) or acquisition of certification within 60 days of employment
• State licensure as a Pharmacy Technician
• Preferred Experience: Prior experience in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations
• Previous hospital experience is a plus

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Sr Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. Incumbents will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems. Incumbents will also assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintain patient billing records.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
