Job summary

City of Hope in Georgia is seeking a PRN Sr Pharmacy Technician. Under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, you will assist in the preparation and distribution of patient medications, maintain inventory, and support regulatory paperwork and billing records.

Preferred candidates have 2–4 years of pharmacy technician experience, current State or National certification (CphT) or be able to obtain it within 60 days, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• 2-4 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• EMR training or proficiency.
• State or National Pharmacy Technician certification (CphT) or obtain within 60 days, plus state licensure.
• Preferred: experience with sterile oncology admixtures; hospital experience is a plus.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Sr Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. Incumbents will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems. Incumbents will also assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintain patient billing records.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

High School or equivalent (e.g., GED certification)

Minimum Experience:

2 - 4 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Required Courses/Training

EMR

Required Certification/Licensure:

State or National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CphT) or acquisition of certification within 60 days of employment

State licensure as a Pharmacy Technician

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations

Previous hospital experience is a plus
